Sanchez was a female Starfleet officer serving as a relief navigator aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain James Kirk in 2267. Sanchez was on duty when the Enterprise was attacked by three Klingon D7-class starships, following Commander Spock's capture by and rescue from Klingon agents.
