Sarah Sisko was a human female alive in the early 24th century. She was the first wife of Joseph Sisko, and the biological mother of Starfleet officer Benjamin Sisko.
In the early 2330s, a Bajoran Prophet took control of Sarah Sisko's body. While under the Prophet's control, Sarah married Joseph Sisko, and conceived a son, Benjamin - who was born in 2331. In 2332, the Prophet left Sarah, and once she had regained control Sarah left Joseph and her son. For the next three years Joseph spent a great deal of time searching for her. In 2335 Sarah was working in Australia as a holophotographer when she died in a hovercraft accident. One month later Joseph learned what had happened to her.
Joseph Sisko soon remarried. As Benjamin was growing up, Joseph never mentioned his true parentage to him, leaving him to believe that his step-mother was his real mother. In 2375, Sarah appeared in a vision to her son. They soon found a photo of the woman in Joseph's home. At first Joseph was angry that the picture had been discovered, but soon revealed the truth to Benjamin. (DS9 episode Image in the Sand)
