Saransk was a male Hirogen hunter.

In 2381, the Hirogen hunting vessel Saransk served on attacked and boarded the USS Aventine after it passed through a subspace tunnel to end up near the Carina Arm near the median between the Delta and Gamma Quadrants. He and his fellow hunter Dossok, were to infiltrate the Aventine's engineering computer core, but were killed by Lonnoc Kedair. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals)
