Sarium krellide is a material often used in power cells, such as sarium krellide batteries. (TNG episode: "In Theory"; SCE eBooks: Wildfire, Book 1, Wildfire, Book 2)

The material holds a maximum energy density of 1.3 x 10^6 megajoules per cubic centimeter, at a maximum leak rate of no more than 1.05 kilojoules per hour. (TNG reference: Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual)

It is also fairly common to find sarium krellide in the casing materials and detonators of explosives. One such device was used to bomb one of the arches of the Okana Shipyards in an effort to delay the launch of the USS Hannibal. (DS9 novel: Antimatter)

In the novel Pathways, sarium krellide is misnamed as "sarium kelleride."
