Savannah Ring was a 23rd century Human woman, a member of Starfleet in the 2270s decade, specialized as a paramedic. In the year 2278, Ring was aboard the Federation starship USS Peleliu when that vessel was declared a wreck. With the loss of all other medical personnel, Ring was advanced to senior medic among the crew and remained onboard as part of Commander Nick Keller's crew when the wreck was re-commissioned as the composite frigate Challenger.

Biography[]

Savannah Ring was of mixed ancestry, part Tahitian Polynesian and part Eskimo, according to Nick Keller, a long-time friend of hers in the command staff aboard Peleliu. She was stocky and had a propensity to alter her hair color. She was highly skilled as a first responder in emergency services, but had a reputation as a maverick. Her career was floundering by the end of the 2270s, with Starfleet oversight being critical of her unwillingness to change assignments. Eventually, she was offered a deal: take a frontier assignment or face a discharge. She accepted a medic position as part of the Starfleet detachment at the newly-established Belle Terre colony. It was in this capacity she was aboard Peleliu in the year 2280 when the ship was wrecked.

Challenger.

When Peleliu was recomissioned as Challenger, Ring stayed on as Keller's emergency medical services crewperson, and grumbled about occasions where she was essentially doctoring without a medical license (as the ship had no qualified doctors or nurses). She was quartered with Zoa, a Rassua warrior-diplomat who stayed on as tactical officer, which caused some problematic situations.

Savannah Ring often assumed an acerbic tone, but generally had productive banter back-and-forth with her old friend Keller. Savannah gave him the nickname "sheriff" when he took on the task, as OTC, to organize the Blue Net to provide colonial security in place of the lost Peleliu.
