The Scottish (or Scots) are a Human ethnic group native to the nation-state of Scotland on Earth.

Montgomery Scott was a Scot. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory; TOS episode: "Space Seed", et al.) Lieutenant Heather McConel, assistant chief engineer of the USS Enterprise in 2268, was also a Scot, as was Alec MacPherson, assistant chief engineer of the Enterprise in 2269. (TOS novels: The Klingon Gambit, Crisis on Centaurus)

Montgomery Scott met many other Scots when he was sent back in time to 1746 by the being Weyland. Among the people Scott encountered were Seamus and Megan MacIntyre, whom he subsequently learned were direct ancestors of Frederick William Jefferies, the inventor of the Jefferies tube. (TOS novel: Home Is the Hunter)
