Sector 1156 was a region of space, a sector located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. As of the 24th century, Sector 1156 was unclaimed space and remained neutral. (TNG episode: "Masks")

History and specifics[]

This sector had been surveyed by the Federation at some point prior to the 2370s decade. It included at least one star system.

Millions of years ago, a rogue comet departed the D'Arsay system. By the 24th century, the comet had entered orbit in a star system in Sector 1156.

In the year 2370, the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D detected the rogue comet in Sector 1156 and found that it contained a D'Arsay archive. Its point of origin, the D'Arsay system, was located two sectors away. (TNG episode: "Masks")

The D'Arsay were an extinct amphibian species who also left artifacts in the Theta Caeli 670 system in the Arucanis Arm. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Explore the Arucanis Arm")

The D'Arsay had been active some 87 million years before the 24th century. (TNG episode: "Masks")
