Semtek was a plant with valued medicinal qualities. The USS Io discovered semtek growing on Trinni/ek in 2380. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)

Semtek was apparently known of prior to its discovery on Trinni/ek; however, this appears to be its only mention in any Trek story.
