The ShiKahr-class (also spelled Shi'Kahr-class) was a type of frigate in service to the Federation Starfleet in the 24th and 25th centuries. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom; STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Service history[]
The ShiKahr vessels were constructed as a modification of the design of the venerable Miranda-class. One such vessel, the USS Santa Cruz, was already active by the year 2378.(ST - FCBD 2023 Star Trek comic: "Prelude to Star Trek: Day of Blood") By the 25th century, ShiKahr-class vessels filled a role as a Starfleet light cruiser.
Shi'Kahr-class ships were also occasionally seen under the command of the Imperial Starfleet, who considered them frigates. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
