The Tal Shiar were named after Shiarkiek in 2344 in his "honor" and were formed by Praetor Narviat. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Heart)
In 2374, Shiarkiek was assassinated by Archpriest N'Gathan, shortly before the Romulan entry into the Dominion War. (Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Blood Sacrifice")
