Engineer Shigeda was an Oriental Human in Starfleet. In 2268, while serving on the USS Enterprise he developed a hatred for Vulcans and joined Theodore Lowrey's anti-Vulcan group. He was very skilled at working on environmental systems. (TOS novel: Vulcan!)
