Sigma Draconis V was a planet located in the space of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant, the fifth planet in orbit of the Sigma Draconis star system, at coordinates 2.02N 5.22E in sector 004.

History and specifics

It was a world that was noted for its wide expanses and its high surface temperature. This planet was known for its wide variety of avian lifeforms with the most spectacular being the Draconian air dragon. Sigma Draconis was one of the more recent worlds that was colonized by the Vulcan civilization and had several major cities in its southern hemisphere. There were numerous universities and colleges that were devoted to the study of Vulcan and alien biology.

Starfleet maintained a small support and repair outpost facility on Sigma Draconis.

In the 23rd century, Sigma Draconis V remained home to a Vulcan colony, a noted center of culture and industry, and the site of a Starfleet outpost facility. By reference stardate 2/2306.01, the world had a population of 2.25 billion individuals, mostly Vulcan, and the government was a full-status colonial member of the Federation. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)

The FASA RPG sources describing this world contradict canon in stating that this world is the only class M planet in the system. "Spock's Brain" clearly defined three other planets as the only class M bodies in this system, and omitted mention of this one.
