Singularity One was the name of a Starfleet initiated project to develop a 4-D holographic navigational system, for the purpose of piloting a starship along the event horizon of a black hole. The project was headed by Colin Murphy, and included pilots Mark McHenry, Frankie Crane, Jill Harris, and Seetara.
In 2368, the Singularity One project completed flight simulations at the Starfleet Headquarters Complex in San Francisco, and commenced field testing aboard the USS Amazon. Unfortunately, the project suffered a major setback when unanticipated time-space distortions were encountered at the event horizon which nearly tore the ship apart. The pilot team disbanded shortly thereafter. (NF short story: "Singularity")
