Stan Kenton was a human born December 15, 1911. he was a jazz musician whose works included Grammy-winning Adventures in Time.

Wesley Crusher stood in several times on bongos, most notably at the Birdland. In return, he gave William T. Riker a trombone lesson. He died in 1979. (TNG - Strange New Worlds VII short story: "Adventures in Jazz and Time")
