Starbase 17 was a Federation Starfleet Sigma-class starbase with a space station facility. (TNG video games: Armada, Armada II)

History

In 2270, Starbase 17 was an Andorian-built space station operated by the Andorian Engineering Corps. Chief of the engineering team was Mister Shatah. Two Kumari-class battlecruisers were at the station when the USS Enterprise arrived to repairs and overhauling on stardate 7101.6. The Andorian engineers repaired the Enterprise but the computer was malfunctioning, suffering from prejudice against Tellarites. Commander Spock was able to restore the computer's functionality. (TOS - Burden of Knowledge comic: "A Matter of Perspective")

In 2286, the new USS Enterprise-A was heading for Starbase 17 for shore leave when Captain James T. Kirk was abducted by Klingons. After Kirk's abduction, the Enterprise did continue on to the starbase under the command of Captain Spock, and underwent a series of repairs and upgrades there. (TOS novel: Timetrap)

By 2379, SB17 had been rebuilt as a Sigma-class starbase. The station was involved in the battle against the invading Borg Collective. (TNG video games: Armada, Armada II)

In Armada, the starbase's space station name was randomly assigned to a playing field station by the game software.
