Starbase 8 was a Federation starbase that was constructed in the 22nd century.

In 2267, the USS Enterprise docked at Starbase 8 for shore leave after engaging Romulan vessels during the Canara incident. (TOS novel: Web of the Romulans)

In 2376, the USS Excalibur-A, a Galaxy-class starship, was launched from the base, under the command of Captain Mackenzie Calhoun. (NF novel: Restoration)
