Starbase 81 was a Starfleet facility in operation in the mid 24th century. As of 2367, the commanding officer of Starbase 81 was Vice Admiral Yuri Kuznetsov.

In that year, the USS Enterprise-D visited Starbase 81, where it picked up former USS Stargazer crewmembers Carter Greyhorse, Phigus Simenon, and Idun Asmund, en route to Daa'V. (TNG novel: Reunion)
