Starbase Earhart (also known as Farspace Station Earhart) was a Federation starbase in operation in the 24th century.

History and specifics[]

In 2327, recently graduated Ensigns Jean-Luc Picard, Cortin Zweller and Marta Batanides had a layover at the starbase while they awaited their first deep space assignments. It was during this layover, that Picard became involved in a fight with a group of Nausicaans over a game of dom-jot which led to Picard being stabbed through the heart. The wound was nearly fatal, but thankfully Picard received urgent medical attention which eventually saw him fitted with an artificial heart. (TNG episodes: "Samaritan Snare", "Tapestry"; TNG - Section 31 novel: Rogue)

During Batanides' brief stay at the starbase she met Commander Rachel Garrett who was also on a brief layover at the starbase as she returned to her XO position aboard the USS Carthage. The two women struck up a casual friendship, but they only met each other for a couple of drinks at the local bar before they both went their separate ways. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)

Beckett Mariner and D'Vana Tendi visited the starbase in 2381 to meet with a "fixer" friend Mariner knew at Bonestell, named Addix, who she knew could fix the broken Caitian libido post they had just acquired from Qualor II on behalf of Doctor T'Ana. (LD: We'll Always Have Tom Paris)

Presumably named for 20th century aviator Amelia Earhart.
