The Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry was an award honoring an act of special heroism by a member of Starfleet.

Captain James T. Kirk received this citation from Chief Weapons Officer Aldous Kramer during his 2250s service aboard USS Farragut, when Kirk saved nine people (including Kramer) after a premature weapon detonation took out most of Farragut's starboard pod. This citation was among the abbreviated list of Kirk's decorations read at his court martial in 2267. (TOS novel: The Kobayashi Maru; TOS episode: "Court Martial")

Lieutenant David McAllan and Crewpersons Stephen Drew and Claire Eddy, all of the USS da Vinci, were posthumously awarded this citation for their self-sacrificing actions during the crisis at Galvan VI. (SCE eBook: Wildfire, Book 2)

After she took command of the USS Defiant in the midst of battling a trio of rogue Jem'Hadar fighters Ezri Dax was nominated to receive the award. (DS9 novel: Avatar, Book One)

The medal itself consisted of a gold pin and purple ribbon. (SCE eBook: Breakdowns)
