Starfleet Command (or Starfleet Central) is the organizational and command division of the Federation Starfleet. It is based in San Francisco at Starfleet Headquarters (which is itself also sometimes casually referred to as "Starfleet Command"). Most of Starfleet Command is made up of the Admiralty and their support staff. Starfleet Command is headed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Federation Starfleet, the highest-ranking Starfleet officer who is responsible for the entire organization and who him/herself answers only to the President of the United Federation of Planets.

By the year 12263, Starfleet Command was called Unifleet Command. (Star Trek short story: "Our Million-Year Mission")
