Starwide Merchants was a business that operated from the planet Alpha Centauri with its main office being in the city of Grinitaine. It was founded on Stardate 1/0302.2 with its chartering organization being the Securities and Exchange Commission of the United Federation of Planets.

Its noted for a reputation in distributing only the finest quality items with the corporation's vast capital being used to finance colonial expeditions that were at times supported by the Federation government. Starwide Merchants not only financed the construction of exploratory craft for such expeditions but also equipped with in exchange for a percentage of any gross revenues in export that were collected by the colony in the future. Many of these ventures were successful and it was believed that the firm would remain active for many years.

The company was divided into at least two sub-divisions namely:

• Starwide Service Supply : headed by Margaret Verliek who handled Stores and Supplies for Colonial Expeditions.
• Starwide Acquisitions : with its duties being Import-Export Trade and its division head was Ingram Braddock. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)
