A Sub-nagus is a Ferengi official that serves as one of the district managers on the Ferengi homeworld of Ferenginar. These administrative officers often have apprentices that serve them in their duties.

Quark once became involved with the sister of a sub-nagus he was working for and was fired. (DS9 episode: "Playing God")

It is unknown whether this position is also present on colonies of the Ferengi Alliance or whether it is strictly a homeworld position.
