Ipsum-Misha-and-suja-moss

Misha with a suja moss plant.

Suja moss is a species of moss, a type of plant native to the planet Kala.

History and specifics[]

Suja moss glows with a green bioluminescence on a purple-colored plant with flowering red tufts. It grows wild on Kala but can also be cultivated in pots. The moss can be processed into taka, a medicine able to cure the Kalan plague.

In the 2260s, when the Kalan plague erupted on Kala, it triggered a war over the resources needed to locate and process suja moss.

In 2268, Montgomery Scott inadvertently found enough suja moss to cure the entire population. He was seeking a dilithium vein to replace damaged crystals aboard the starship USS Enterprise and found a field of the plants growing in a remote mountainous region. (TOS - Star Trek: The Manga - Kakan ni Shinkou comic: "Cura Te Ipsum")
