Sulfur (or Sulphur, symbol S) is a chemical element, with atomic number 16 on the periodic table.
Characteristics and history
Sulfur has an atomic mass of 32.064. This element was discovered by Humans for the first time on Earth's ancient history. (ST reference: Star Fleet Medical Reference Manual)
When combined with copper to form copper sulfate, it becomes a highly poisonous powder. When the copper sulfate is mixed with water, the copper sulfate forms into blue crystals, yet still has poisonous properties. (TOS - Star Trek 1 novelization: The Naked Time)
