A superworm is an advanced type of computer worm program, which spreads copies itself for one part of a network to another. Ardack Sprachnee created a superworm which was capable of creating a detailed simulation of Commander Sonya Gomez by hacking into her secure Starfleet files and logs, altering them, and using that simulation to creates a hostage situation on Recreational Station Hidalgo.
