Surveyor

Surveyor was a starship classification for a small starship used in a support role. These ships conducted scientific surveys for civilian and military applications. As these ships weren't designed for combat, they tended to rely more on their shields and speed when confronted by a threat. Surveyors have enhanced sensor capabilities in line with their primary function. Certain classes of ships, for instance couriers, are designated as surveyors when not performing their primay function. (ST roleplay module: Narrator's Guide, ST roleplay module: Starships)
