The Sutler was an important position on the trading planet of Rigel IV.

The position was filled by an Orion, and was attended by a retinue of assistants. They oversaw the unloading of cargo, the connection of water, power, and sewage lines, and the granting of liberty to the crew, and the rituals that related to these activities (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge).
