System-5 disruptors were large, Cardassian, planet-based disruptor weapons.

On Korma, several system-5 disruptors formed the defenses of the Cardassian outpost. In 2372, they were disabled by a Klingon attack. On the freighter Groumall, Major Kira Nerys and Gul Dukat salvaged one of the disruptors and used it to disable a Klingon Bird-of-Prey. However, firing the weapon caused severe damage to the freighter's power systems, forcing Kira and Dukat to beam over to the ship they had just attacked. (DS9 episode: "Return to Grace")
