T'Plana-Hath was a female Vulcan who lived before the Time of Awakening.

Biography[]

She was born on Vulcan and at some point in early Vulcan history, she formed a school of historians in ShirKahr during the wars against the tyrant Sudoc. The wide ranging nature of her school made her famous due to the fact that examined issues from philosophy to mathematics to even agriculture which were all refracted through the prism of history. As such, the finest minds and noble born youths of Vulcan competed to join her collegium which led to her reputation spreading across the planet.

To T'Plana-Hath, the work of history was the separation of rational fact from legend, propaganda and wishful thinking which her home world had a surplus of during her time. Eventually, she began to see the development of logic itself as the supreme triumph of the Vulcan civilization. Her book History of Logic remained as a standard text in universities on Vulcan to even the modern era.

Her two most prized students were Surak and Jarok who subscribed to her dictum. Although Surak was venerated by modern Vulcans as being the Father of Logic, he himself often attributed T'plana-Hath as the Prime Mover of logic. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Way of Kolinahr: The Vulcans)

Quotes[]

  • "The history of Vulcan logically predates my birth, but I could not attest to it with the evidence at hand"
  • "Logic is the cement of our civilization, with which we ascend from chaos using reason as our guide."
