The Taklan was a Cardassian shuttle.

The Taklan was destroyed at the order of Gul Toran when it was commandeered by nineteen Bajorans who were trying to stop being taken to Terok Nor for a life of slavery. Amongst those killed in the Taklan's destruction were Tir Karna and his son Berin. Tir Remara was to have boarded with her family, but was separated from them at the last minute. Gul Toran and Elim Garak had clashed over the Taklan, with Garak wanting to negotiate with the Bajorans, although Toran refused to enter into any negotiations. (DS9 novel: A Stitch in Time)

In 2370, Garak told Julian Bashir several different stories of the Taklan incident while suffering from the effects of the constant use of his cranial implant. (DS9 episode: "The Wire")
