In the year 2253, T'Pris addressed Spock as a member of this clan, acknowledging his family as part of Vulcan tradition. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Glory)
- According to the TOS novel: Ishmael, Sarek was a member of Clan Hgrtcha. This could be an alternate name for the same clan, as the TOS novel: Spock's World stated that many of the ancient clans used to have true clan names to address themselves by and make up false clan names for other rival clans to call them by.

Clan Banner[]
During Surak's time, clan-specific banners made of cloth were held up on a staff by a standard-bearer in battle. The banner of Surak's father Stef's clan was a bright red flag. When a healer wished to acknowledge that they had reached the limits of what they could do to treat a fallen warrior, they would drape the clan flag over the clansmen's body.
