The Talin system was a star system in or near Federation space in the mid 23rd century. It was comprised of at least eight planets, one of which, Talin IV, was inhabited. The eighth planet was a gas giant, which in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries was converted to a food source for a creature known as "the One". (TOS novel: Prime Directive)
