Talk:Alpha Centauran

Back to page

This is copied from Wikipedia. These projects share the GFDL license, so I dont see a reason to delete it. It does however need to be referrenced eventually. --Chops 05:24, 21 Oct 2005 (UTC)

How do we go about the inconsistancy that some ref.'s say Alpha Centauri was uninhabited till humans got there and settled it, and others say it had a native population? - Lieutenant Ayala 21:09, 21 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Is it the purpose of this wiki to reconcile conflicting data? If not, I should think it would be sufficient to present all data, acknowledge that it contradicts, and leave it at that.

That sounds right to me. I suggest dividing the history section into the two sections. The sections on culture, etc. can probaly be blended together, since it's not always clear which version of Alpha Centauri is being referred to. (i.e, Rafaele Buonarroti could be decendant of human colonists or a hybrid of Italian human and native Alpha Centauran) --Chops 21:42, 22 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Well, sources of course should be cited. If it's pretty clear that some info is from a continuity distinct from that of the current novels, this should also be noted. -- Sci 05:44 19 April 2006 UTC

You say "Centaurian", I say "Centauran"Edit

This space is for a list of which sources use what spellings for the non-canon species from Alpha Centauri, so we can rationally decide which page should have the species and which will be redirects.--Emperorkalan 19:42, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

FASA used "Alpha Centauran"/"Centauran"--Emperorkalan 02:30, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Did FASA describe them as a native species or as transplanted Humans? -- Captain MKB 13:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Worlds of the Federation called them "Centaurian", but specified that they were 3rd century BC Humans transplanted there by the Preservers, and that A.C. VII was their "home" world.
Gold Key comics called them "Alphaurian" (a contraction of Alpha Centaurian)
I believe that Diane Duane once used the term "Centaurrin" in "Intellivore" -- Captain MKB 13:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Devil in the Sky uses Centaurian. --8of5 02:54, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Enterprise booksEdit

The recent Enterprise book est. that the Centaurans are definitely human, but that long before they lived there, Centauri had an extinct race known from ruins75.93.59.214 16:28, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
