Do we not automatically assign IRW or IRV to Romulan ships even if only a name is given much as we would IKS to a Klingon ship or USS to a Starfleet one? --8of5 11:50, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering the samething as I was applying that formula to those Romulan ships that did not have a designation. -- Darth Batrus 14:32, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Normally yes, however the IRV prefix has never (to my knowledge) been stated in any source, and was just a prefix I made up (meaning Imperial Romulan Vessel), when creating the stubbed articles. The difference with the IKS and IRW examples are that there are numerous examples of their use in canon and non-canon media. It would be the same as adding CWS (Cardassian WarShip) to every Cardassian vessel. My talks with Captainmike has made me realize that I shouldn't add my own spin when writing articles. With this in mind I just moved the articles to what they should be as stated in their sources. Sorry if this has caused confusion. (-: --Dr. John Smith 18:48, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
