[edit] Ba'neth
Anyone know who or what the Ba'Neth are? --8of5 11:45, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Voyager race in the Delta quadrant, they appeared to be something like octupus's or perhaps some kind of insect. They are very secretive, isolationist and a bit xenophobic. Make heavy use of Cloaking device and lived in the territory of another race to such an extent that they were considered a myth. Memory Alpha link; http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Ba'neth hope that helps. -- Darth Batrus 12:50, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Cool. Don't remember that episode at all! --8of5 11:54, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cloaking variations
Just moving the topic from Talk:Nanite, I am going to try and go through the first two Dark Matter books I have in order to see if I can get a detailed explanation on how it works after which I will make a page on dark matter cloaks. I think my worry was on a definite name but will redouble my efforts and check the books again.
As for the transmorphic cloak, the book its mentioned in had a very short line on it. Basically, its a more advanced cloak and made use of Grigari organic technology and thats it. It's kind of too short so should there be an entry on it or leave it as part of cloaking device? 8of5 makes a good point on Interphase cloaking devices having their own entry but I think there is a decent amount of material on dark matter cloaks for an article, just not sure about the transmorphic one. --Darth Batrus 18:12, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well it's not really about the amount of information we have, there are many small articles on subjects that are not greatly expanded upon. If the subject is something uniquely different, then it should have it's own page. Just as we have separate pages for Type-1 phasers, Type-2 phasers, Phaser arrays, etc rather than lumping them all into a single phaser page. --8of5 19:59, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
- With the dark matter cloaks I can note the uniquely different aspect of them but not so sure about the transmorphic cloak... essentially, the line mentioned currently on the cloaking device article is all that's known about it. That it's a new cloak and required Grigari components to make and nothing more. No mention on how its different. Though the name is kind of definitive enough to make an article on, I just wanted to gather opinions on the subject first. --Darth Batrus 12:09, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
