Talk:Dyson sphere
Back to page
Does anyone remember a planet (NOT Yonada) that Kirk and his crew visit in one of the older books that was hollow and artificial, sorta a Dyson Sphere? One crewmember nicknamed it "Pellucidar". It was inhabited by short, childlidke, furry people, a female of the species naturally fell in love with Kirk. He figured out they had once lived on a natural world and been taller before "degenerating". They were ruled by a "god" whose name I think started with an "A", and he saved them when their hollow world seemingly disappeared into a black hole.JustinGann 07:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
You're thinking of The Starless World. Doug86 08:38, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks! Ay-nab was the god I was thinking of. That was one of the first Trek books I read, and I thought it was horrible, TBH. I was just thinking of it the other day watching the old movie about Pellucidar starring Peter Cushing. Lyra is the world, sure enough. Oh well, after seeing the Pellucidar movie and reading a bit about the books that inspired it, I finally understand the reference.JustinGann 06:17, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
