"Shatnerverse"
Edit
I'm still not quite sure how we are treating "Shatnerverse" info. There is an (albeit short) paragraph in this article from the "Shatnerverse" which doesn't really fit with Shelby's 'established' timeline. While it can be argued that it is reconcilable, it doesn't feel like it belongs. Not sure what the agreed stance on this is. – CommodoreFisher 17:27, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- The "Shatnerverse" novels (I hate that name by the way, as do the Pocket Books staff) should be treated as regular continuity stories under all circumtances unless they introduce something which is totally contradictory to other novels, in which case you write it into the article as standard data, perhaps in its own subsection, and add an italicized note that that particular data was from a novel by a different author and contradicts other sources. -- Captain MKB 17:46, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and edited the Shatner novel section of the Shelby article -- "not fitting well" was a generous description for how badly it was worded, Commodore -- someone got quite confused and assumed that Shelby supplying Picard with information meant that Picard was under Shelby's command. Obviously an officer can supply information to another officer without being in direct chain of command ahead of them. Let's stop making up our own assumptions, everyone! -- Captain MKB 17:53, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
