Talk:Kela Idaris

Hopefully, I don't cause too much of an upset with this, but here goes. I kind of made this point on Memory Alpha. There have been very few Klingon women who have been identified using the traditional Klingon naming conventions. Even those that have been identified in such a way, it has always been uncertain as to whether the parent is either the father or the mother. The only thing I could find is in the DS9 episode "You Are Cordially Invited" During Serilla's testing of Jadzia, Serilla said "Shenera, daughter of Emporer Reclaw." This seems to me, at least, that the Klingon naming convention uses the father's name. The only reason I can find for B'Ellana Torres being identified as "B'Ellana, daughter of Miral" is because Miral is B'Elanna's only Klingon parent, and "B'Elanna, daughter of John" wouldn't go over too well. :) Hope this made sense. I checked the Encyclopedia, which states that Kela is a male and Jadzia's father. I've changed the article to reflect this. -- DS9 Forever 18:29, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
