Talk:London

I'm not sure how to add it here, but The Sundered lists London as one of the cities affected by nuclear attacks in 2053. Either it was rebuilt a la Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or the bombs fell on targets near the city, but not in the city proper.--Emperorkalan 16:36, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Best bet is to simply note that London was amongst the nuclear targets, and to then include what you said about it being either rebuilt or not directly hit in italics. -- Sci 16:37 21 May 2006 UTC
London Dinner
Edit
The London Dinner established in AotF (p. 175) is "an annual reception for selected members of the Federation Council", and Krim Aldos attends it for the first time in March of 2380. The Buckingham Palace dinner described in ATT Kill (p.13) as "the formal state dinner welcoming newly elected members of the Federation Council", and it occurs in late 2379. If these were the same event, Krim would have first attended in 2376, and it would take place later in the year. Other than sharing a city, there's no evidence these are the same event. --75.168.130.132 00:31, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Not necessarily. For one thing, Krim wasn't appointed to the Council until some time in, IIRC, Ocotber of 2376, whereas Kill depicts the dinner happening in August or thereabouts. It's entirely possible that Krim was appointed after the 2376 London Dinner and never attended another one. And it seems particularly unlikely that they'd hold two dinners in London for Federation Council members, especially on a planet full of beautiful cities. -- Sci 02:39 7 MAR 2009 UTC
- Yes, we can come up with dozens of suppositions to say they are the same event. But, from the facts established in the books, we have an annual dinner taking place in August of '79 explicitly for new council members, and then we have another annual dinner that takes place only seven months later, this one not for new, but for "selected" council members, including one who's served for 3+ years. Anyhow, there's no reason to assume, on a planet full of beautiful cities, that the August reception for new council members is always held in London, rather than changing location from year to year, is there? --75.168.130.132 04:08, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
