In the book, the Gettysburg is described as a Galaxy Class vessel, but did not explicitly mentioned that it was a Galaxy Class. --Farragut79 19:27, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

How can it be described Galaxy class but not mentioned as Galaxy class? --8of5 15:53, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
It is not described as a Galaxy-class ship, but there is a saucer separation in the story. Which leads to the question: do we assume the ship in this story is the old USS Gettysburg (NCC-3890)? This would be consistent with the idea that the Federation of this alternate universe does not have a lot of resources to spare, but it's maybe questionable whether the Constellation-class has saucer sep ability. Would it make more sense to have a USS Gettysburg (alternate universe) article? --75.168.144.30 19:27, October 11, 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps that would be the best solution. There is no evidence to suggest that a Constellation-class vessel can separate, however, it has been suggested that some Excelsior-class ships have the ability, so it could be the USS Gettysburg. --The Doctor 20:51, October 11, 2009 (UTC)
