Real-life meaning of "Orisha"[]

In the real world, an "Orisha [[1]]" is a manifestation of God as seen in the traditions of several African peoples, most notably the Yoruba. In the New World, the concept of an Orisha appears in the syncretist Yoruba/Catholic tradition known as Santería as well as Haitian Vodou. Given the strong religious themes of TTN novel: Sword of Damocles, it is not surprising that such a name would have been deliberately chosen to evoke this association.

Wow. Awesome. You are absolutely correct.

The name Orisha was chosen for precisely this reason and you are, whoever you are, the first person to twig that.

Also Elysia Incendae, , the name of the system of which Orisha is a part is [my extremely poor] Latin for "Burning Heaven."
