The source on Orta dying with the Odyssey is unclear. Orta is not mentioned in "The Jem'Hadar" and at the end of The Brave and the Bold (pg 255) the implication is that the Odyssey is headed back to DS9 to drop off Sisko and crew and Orta at the same time. Obviously they made it to DS9 - Sisko and company were back there before the beginning of the episode "The Jem'Hadar" and there is no mention of deciding not to drop off Orta. If we are just inferring what probably happened to him, then it seems clear that without any other sources, we should assume that Orta and the Malkus artifact were given to DS9 when the Odyssey returned (as planned) and then the Odyssey patrolled the Cardassian border for a bit (as planned) then the episode begins. So Orta would be alive and well as far as we know. Is there something that I am missing? --Jdvelasc 21:53, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
