Imperial Romulan Fleet moved to Romulan Guard?Edit

Out of curiousity... what prompted this move? Why does the main military organization of the Romulan Star Empire gets redirected here when there was already the Imperial Romulan Fleet? -- Darth Batrus 11:35, 14th May 2008 (UTC)

The Imperial Romulan Fleet had an alternate name as the Romulan Star Navy in different sources, but wouldn't the Guard possibly be a separate organization? -- just like the Army is separate from the Navy.

I think it would be safer to state the the Fleet/Navy is a branch of the Guard rather than assuming that one is actually the other. -- Captain MKB 11:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Well there is also the Romulan Imperial Guard from the First Frontier novel but that was in an alternate reality as well. -- Darth Batrus 17:41, 14th May 2008 (UTC)

Could we perhaps put together a list of what sources use what name and in what context to try and find the best name for the article(s) and where which information should go? Space fleet	TOS comic: "Alien Spotlight: Romulans" - Used by a Klingon to refer to the Romulan fleet, so could be generalisation with he Klingon not familiar with the proper name of the organisation.
Romulan Imperial Guard	TOS novel: First Frontier - Alternate timeline Romulan military.

Ok we have a citation for all but one, and that's a variation of one we do, so... I still agree with what Mike said earlier basically. I think we should return this page's information to one of the fleet names, probably Romulan Star Navy as it has two pretty hefty citations.
