Talk:Shelby
Back to page
When does Dax say Shelby is male? Here is a transcript of the relevant part from You are Cordially Invited... DAX:I wanted to thank you for the show. ATOA:Thanks for getting me the day off. DAX:Captain Shelby owed me a favor. Several favors actually. In fact, how'd you like another two days off? ATOA:Two? What do I have to do? DAX: Not much...Just give me something fun to look at for the rest of the evening. ATOA:Anything else? DAX:I'll let you know.
Is there another relevant section from the episode? If the writer intended for this to refer to Elizabeth Shelby, why would Dax imply that Shelby was male? Jdvelasc 15:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- In the episode, Terry Farrell says "Actually he owed me several". You can't always trust scripts. -- Tough Little Ship 15:58, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- And you shouldn't trust online transcripts either TLS 2007, since I'm assuming that's where your line comes from, as the subtitles don't agree, and neither do I. All I've ever heard is "...actually owed me several." with no "he" in there at all. There is something that sounds like a "s", which would actually suggest the phantom word is "she", but I've never heard an actual "he" or "she" in there the numerous times I've listened to the line. - Archduk3 talk 09:32, May 14, 2011 (UTC)
