[edit] Registry number?
Does anyone know the actual sourcing for the Farragut's registry number. The registry wasn't seen in DS9 episode: "Chrysalis", and the RPG reference: Starships sourcebook gives the registry as NCC-2582. --The Doctor 04:20, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I believe this was a ST Encyclopedia reg, but I'm not sure which volume its from. I tend to give the Encyclopedia the benefit of the doubt ove RPGs as it is derived from studio staff. -- Captain MKB 06:01, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Normally I agree, but I've checked the final addition of the Encyclopedia, which was the only one to cover this Farragut, and no registry is mentioned. Perhaps NCC-14221 is something that has worked itself in from fanon, and we should use NCC-2582 instead? --The Doctor 09:45, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, I can't find a reference to this registry. The one remaining source we might have gotten it from would be the Omnipedia discs released with the Encyclopedia. -- Captain MKB 15:28, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Ross's flagship?
It seems really odd Ross would use a Excelsior class ship during "What You Leave Behind", especially one several decades old given the registry here. -- DS9 Forever 20:04, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps. Excelsior-class ships seem to be a popular choice for Admirals in the 2360s and 70s. Nechayev had the Gorkon in several TNG episodes, J.P. Hanson had an Excelsior in TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds", and both times they were involved in engagements with the Borg. So perhaps, Ross chose the Farragut as his personal flagship because of reliable and durable design, or he may have served aboard her at some point. Either that, or he was late waking up and the Farragut was the last ship available ;-) --The Doctor 00:04, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
