Tamala Harstad was a 24th century human woman, an officer in Starfleet in the 2380s decade who served aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-E.

Biography[]

In the year 2386, Harstad was one of the doctors that treated Commander Geordi La Forge and Lieutenant Dina Elfiki when the Enterprise was struck by a massive rush of quantum energy when Ushalon reappeared.

She initially released Elfiki from sickbay and had to explain that the science officer had been authorized to leave first because they didn't cause a fuss. As Harstad took scans of Geordi's right foot, she mused that she'd met him back when he served aboard the USS Enterprise-D. She was informed it was technically possible, as they'd encountered a version of the former Enterprise. (TNG novel: Headlong Flight)

Background[]

With a doctorate level of education, it is likely that Harstad held officer rank, probably in the lieutenant grades, but since the character was never shown and the rank never mentioned, it is unclear what specific rank she held.
