Tantalus was a star system, located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, in Federation space at coordinates 2.77N 4.04E. The Tantalus system's orbit was the location of a number of planets, including fifth planet Tantalus V. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)

Charles and Morgan Lefler were briefly assigned to Tantalus by Starfleet in 2353 to conduct plasma studies, and were accompanied by their daughter, Robin. Other residents of Tantalus included Mr. Consadine and Ms. Wis'noki. (NF - No Limits short story: "Lefler's Logs")
