Teglas was a female Tellarite Starfleet officer in the 23rd century. She was the alpha shift helmsman of the USS Courageous, under the command of Captain Michael Caulder. She had an unlikely friendship with the ship's Vulcan science officer, Ensign Trenna.
In 2269, the Courageous was buffeted by plasma surges while it was observing a proto-nebula which caused a sluggishness in the helm's response. Lieutenants Teglas and Sulu worked together to fix the problem. (TOS novel: Allegiance in Exile)
