The Tellarite freighter was a starship type in use by the United Planets of Tellar since at least the 20th century. There were at least two different classes of Tellarite freighters. (ENT episode: "Carbon Creek")
History[]
20th century[]
In late 1957, a Tellarite freighter picked up the distress call from the survivors of a Vulcan survey ship that had crashed near Carbon Creek, Pennsylvania on Earth, a pre-warp planet. The freighter relayed the information to the Vulcan High Command, which dispatched the D'Vahl to retrieve the stranded Vulcans. (ENT episode: "Carbon Creek", TOS novel: From History's Shadow)
22nd century[]
During the 22nd century, Tellarite freighters were the backbone of the Tellarite Mining Consortium. (ENT episode: "Bounty")
Two Tellarite brothers, Gaavrin and Skalaar, owned and operated the freighter Tezra, the first ship of its class. The Tezra was active in the 2140s and hauled one million metric tons. The freighter had a maximum speed of warp 4.5. Eventually, the Tezra was impounded by the Klingons. Only in the year 2153 did Skalaar learn that his ship had been cannibalized, whereas Gaavrin had known that for some time. (ENT episode: "Bounty")
In 2152, a Tellarite freighter responded to a distress call sent by the Earth starship Enterprise after the Enterprise suffered damage following an encounter in a Romulan minefield. The freighter's schedule wouldn't permit them to rendezvous for assistance, but they did transmit coordinates to an automated repair station that could assist them. (ENT episode: "Dead Stop")
In 2154, a Romulan telepresence drone ship disguised itself as a Tellarite freighter prior to its attack on the Enterprise. (ENT episode: "The Aenar")
During the negotiations for the Coalition of Planets in 2155, the Tellarites claimed the Orions were pirating their freighters, and pushed for trade sanctions against the Orions. (ENT episode: "Demons")
23rd century[]
In 2270, the USS Pioneer rescued a Tellarite freighter from a Klingon attack at Taurus II. (STO - Agents of Yesterday mission: "The Taurean affair")
24th century[]
In 2370, the fugitive Ferengi thief Kono beamed from the Federation-Bajoran starbase Deep Space 9 to Tellarite freighter departing from the station following a layover, to escape arrest. (DS9 episode: "Shadowplay")
25th century[]
During the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410, starships affiliated with the Klingon Defense Force occasionally raided Tellarite freighters in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. (STO missions: "Disable Tellarite Freighter", "Surface Tension")
Known vessels[]
