The Temple of Amonak was a sacred site on the planet Vulcan.

In 2280, Tuvok succumbed to a moment of weakness after meeting a Terellian girl named Jara where he considered abandoning logic as well as reason in favor of an emotional attachment with her. After confessing this act with his father, Tuvok was taken to the Temple of Amonak where he met with a Vulcan master in order to purge him of these emotions. During that time, he spent years in rigorous training in order to learn the disciplines needed to master the control of emotions. (VOY episode: "Gravity", VOY novel: Fusion)

In 2374, Starfleet learned that the crew of the USS Voyager were still alive in the Delta Quadrant when they communicated through a relay network operated by the Hirogen. This brief contact allowed their families in the United Federation of Planets to write letters to the crew. One of the transmitted messages was from Lieutenant Tuvok's wife T'Pel, who wrote of the family's journey to the Temple of Amonak in order to ask the priests to say prayers for Tuvok's safe return. (VOY episode: "Hunters")
